If the income from Form 1099-NEC is income for either Schedule C (business) or Schedule E (rental), you may enter the income directly under those topics and skip/delete the entry under the 1099-NEC topic.

Although you'll see questions about 1099-NEC for business/rental income, you can instead report it as "cash/other receipts." As long as the income is reported on your return, you have satisfied the IRS requirements. Should the IRS question how you reported the income (unlikely), you have proof that the EIN was missing from the form.

Otherwise, if this income was unrelated to a business, you can enter this under Wages & Income >> Less Common Income >> Miscellaneous Income. Use a description that includes "missing EIN." The income will be reported, which is all the IRS wants.
