Turbo tax only provides a specific type of payment (taxable grant, agricultural program, etc...). None of these selections are on my 1099G. How do I proceed?
To clarify, what is the form 1099-G reporting?
@eemark1
amount is indicated in box 2 which is called out "income tax refunds"
my 1099 G is reporting income tax refund in box2. Also it has a title stating "2024 Statement for recipients of Certain Government payments" However, Turbo Tax does not have this simple selection listed. Also, Turbo tax give a selection to cover this description.

To enter a state or local tax refund (Form 1099-G) -
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Other Common Income
On Refunds Received for State/Local Tax Returns, click the start or update button
Or enter state refunds in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to state refunds
Note - If you used the Standard Deduction on your federal tax return for the year of the state tax refund, you do not report the state refund on your federal tax return.
Where do I report 1099-G which was a payment recieved for participation in a USDA program
IRS form 1099-G reports US Dept of Agriculture proceeds. What box reports the proceeds?
Do you report farm income of some kind?
