This question references the mileage records for a business vehicle. If you have written evidence (a mileage log, for example), you can answer this question "yes."

If you didn't report a vehicle for this business, you will need to delete the Car & Truck Expenses Worksheet in TurboTax Online:

1.       Open your return in TurboTax. ...

2.       In the upper right corner, click My Account > Tools.

3.       In the pop-up window, select Delete a form.

4.       Click Delete next to Schedule C (Contractor) -- Car & Truck Expenses Worksheet and follow the onscreen instructions.

I’m an independent contractor for instacart and I added up all my mileage for delivery only that is on my record, unfortunately it’s not allowing me to select “no entry” on the question since it says I should select no entry but if I do have all the mileage what can I do to make my taxes go through since that’s the only issue I’m having and it doesn’t matter what I select it still acts up and doesn’t let me file. Thank you for your time

Go back through the vehicle expense portion of the business return interview.

  1. Click on Income and Expenses and then click the Start/Revisit box in the Self-Employment section.
  2. Click Edit next to your business.
  3. On the Here's your XX Info, click the Edit box next to vehicle.
  4. On the Vehicle Summary, click the Edit box next to your vehicle.
  5. On the screen, Did you keep track of the miles you drove... mark the Yes radio button and click Continue.
  6. On the screen, How do you want to enter your mileage for this [vehicle]? mark the radio button I'll enter the total miles I drove in 2020.
  7. Enter the total miles you drove for the year in the first box and the business miles in the second box,  [See screenshot, below.]
  8. Click Continue and continue through the screens.
