TT saying amount of $3600 I qualified for is incorrect, it should be $4700 as I have a child. I didn't the 500/600 checks. Prohibits me from requesting $100 on line 30

Turbo Tax says all I should've qualified for is $3600 and asks if I received, which we did.  However, I'm still owed $1100 due to dependent.

You got the 3600?  You entered 2400 and 1200 in the 2 boxes that you already got it?  Was your child born in 2020?

Go back to My Info and make sure you said your baby lived with you the WHOLE YEAR and not just the number of months.  Even a baby was born on Dec 31 is considered to live with you the whole year.  You might have to delete the baby and re add him.  Pay attention to the questions, especially the one asking if he paid more than half of his support.

We are married filing jointly.  AGI is under 150G.  She was born in 2019.  Maybe I should clear everything out and start over.  Checked her info and all correct boxes are checked.  Maybe something is cached and causing issues.

If TurboTax is saying your Stimulus should be $3600 up to this point.  I also calculate $4700 since your dependent was born in 2019.

How much have you received already ($2400) is what is being asked?  Make sure you answer the questions correctly.  How much for Stimulus1 did you receive.  Put that amount there and How much for Stimulus 2.  It will calculate the amount currently due.  Basically you have not received $2300.00.

Rebate Credit applies.

  • If you need to make any changes to your stimulus credit responses, search for stimulus and select the jump-to link at the top of the search results to return back to the section. Enter your updated info and Continue.

If you’re not getting any Recovery Rebate Credit for your child or dependent, it’s most likely that either you or they don’t qualify. As noted above, there are restrictions as to who is eligible to receive the full Credit. In addition to dependents, the amount you may be eligible for depends on how much stimulus payment you already received, your citizenship status, having a valid Social Security number, if you’re claimed on anyone else’s return, and your AGI.

  • Some common reasons why your child or dependent isn’t eligible may include:
  • Your AGI is above the income thresholds for your status
  • They are being claimed on the other parent’s or someone else’s return
  • They don’t have a valid SSN
