TT refusing to efile due to a blank box in the second W2.

I have 2 W2s from the same employer - 1 regular W2 with all boxes filled. Since I worked for a few days from another state, I also have a 2nd W2 with blank Box1 but has numbers in state box 16 and 17.

TT is refusing to efile with this message" One of the W2s doesn't have an amount in box1 or the amount is less than $1..... Return must be filed by mail.

How do I get around this?  I would like to efile.

Enter the state information from boxes 15 thru 17 from the second W-2 onto the first W-2.  Do not enter the second W-2 on your tax return.

well-being how box 1 on your w-2 is your taxable income for the year, and since your second w-2 has no income reported on it, just don't even bother with your second w-2. That is unless you feel you will get a much larger return or that it would make that much more of a difference. but I still don't see how you can have a w-2 with taxes taken out being listed in the other boxes and yet no income in box 1. it seems to me like you need to either contact that employer after you file an extension because i highly doubt they will have time to get you an amended w-2 before the 15th, or if it's not that much just skip it like it never existed, as long as you don't owe the state or the greedy feds anything it doesn't really matter either way what you do with it

One W-2 entry can be done by adding the boxes for the state information from the second W-2. Two W-2s from the same employer is not allowed. This will resolve your e-file experience and you will not need to mail your tax return.

If the EIN is the same and you work in more than 1 state or city, sometimes they will give you another W2 with the extra state information on it and the top part the same or not filled in. If this is the case, enter 1 W-2 but include both state and local taxes on it. It will let you type in more than one line for boxes 15-20. Don’t add the boxes together. If the locality in box 20 is the same you can simply combine the values in boxes 18 and then the values in box 19 together.

Thanks to everyone for the response.   I collapsed the 2nd W2 info into the first and deleted the 2nd W2 in TT.  This time no error.
