If you take the standard deduction this year but you have verified contributions of $300 or more as a single individual (or Head of Household or Married Filing Separate individual) then you get to enter $300 in 12b.

If you are Married Filing Joint and have verified contributions of at least $600 then you can enter $600 in 12b.

More info in this article.

I keep entering 600. in this field.  It accepts the amount, I save it, but when I come back to TurboTax I'm told there is an error in this field and it pops up as 300. highlighted in color.  I am not able to make this correction.  We're filing jointly as married couple and we're taking the Standard Deduction.

The solution recommended DOES NOT WORK when itemizing Arizona State.  I deleted all my Charity Contributions and entered $600.  Re-ran review and $300 was put back into the field.  You can not put more than $600 on line 12b.  I spoke with a live tech support person and was told that this is a problem that ha been flagged internally and there was NO EXPECTED RESOLUTION DATE.  Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed as I have used TurboTax for years.   Hoping tis gets resolved before the deadline.

Ran into the same problem when taking the Federal Standard Deduction and itemizing Arizona State.  Tech support stated that this is a known problem but don't have a estimated resolution date.
