Trying to enter expenses for self employment. I am using Turbo Tax Deluxe. The system will not allow me to enter expenses unless I upgrade to Turbo Tax Self Employed.

You don't. The programs are set up to handle increasing difficult tax situations. If you want to enter expenses, you must upgrade. You can use Deluxe if you have income only and do not need or choose to take expenses.

Thanks for the response.  Although, I have used Deluxe in past years and entered self employment expenses.

Yes, last year you could enter cell phone and business miles to Deluxe.
