The e-filing for TurboTax opens when the Internal Revenue Service(IRS) opens the 2018 tax filing season on January 29, 2018. As
long as the IRS doesn't change the start date of the tax filing season, you
should wait until January 29th to go back into your return and change your
filing options from file by mail to e-file.

Once
you login to TurboTax, follow these steps to change your filing options to
e-file:
1.
Click "Take me to my return"
2.
Click "File" (in black on the
left of your screen)
3. Go
to Step 3 (make sure you have
completed steps 1 and 2 first)
4.
Click "I'd like to change filing
methods"
5.
Select "E-file" and then click
the "Save" button
6.
Click the "Continue" button and
follow the prompts to e-file your tax return.
