Even if a transfer from a PDF were to work, it's only minimal info, such as the bio information and a few basic things. You need the *.tax2023 data file from last year to transfer into your new 2024 desktop return. How did you prepare the 2023 return? Was your 2023 return prepared on a different computer in the desktop software last year, and if so, do you have the *.tax2023 data file archived somewhere?
Or was the 2023 return prepared in Online TurboTax last year? If so, we can tell you how to download the *.tax2023 data file.
