'TotalHSADeductionAmt' must be equal to the smaller of 'HSAContributionAmt' or 'HSALimitedContributionAmt'.

Go back through the HSA section in TurboTax.   Don't enter any contribution amounts in that section that are also listed on your W-2.

  1. Open (continue) your return in TurboTax.  In the search bar, search for hsa and select the Jump to link in the search results.
  2. On the screen, Tell us about the health-related accounts you had in 2023, check the box next to Health Savings Account (HSA) and select Continue.
  3. Remove any contributions you entered that were on your W-2.   TurboTax automatically includes the amount from your W-2 in box 12 with a code W.
  4. Enter any post-tax (not included on your w-2) contributions - - it is very rare to have an entry in this box.

Why am I showing an excess HSA contribution?
