Today is Oct 11, 2023 but I have not filed my 2021 taxes. How can I file 2021 taxes before I tackle 2022?

1)   Your 2021 taxes must be prepared using the purchased desktop software, on a full MAC or Windows computer....and filed by mail..on paper...at the post office.  2021 can no longer be e-filed...unless you go to your  local professional tax preparer.    TTX software for 2021 can be purchased for download and installation here:

TurboTax 2021 Prior Year Tax Prep - File Past Years' Taxes (intuit.com)

2)  Only your 2022 taxes can thus be prepared using TTX "Online" now...and until 16 October.   So if you want to do 2021 first (using step #1 above) you'd need to work fast.  (or just deal with 2021 later)

Even so, when you attempt to e-file your 2022 tax forms by 16 October, you will indicate that you didn't file in 2021, or that your 2021 AGI is ZERO, because the IRS e-file system does NOT have your 2021 taxes as having been filed (even if you mail them in tomorrow, your 2021 taxes will take months to get manually processed)
