To protect you from identity theft, your tax return is currently being reviewed. To help us process your return more quickly, verify your identity and tax return .. mean?

What does this mean? And do I need to call the IRS?

On some occasions, the IRS requires some taxpayers to verify their identities to prevent thieves from getting refunds.

To resolve this you will need to:

When you are ready to verify your identity, make sure to have your prior-year tax return, your current return, and supporting documents like W-2s, 1099s, or Schedule C.

I called and was pointless,  lady stated if I receive a letter then follow the steps on the letter. I think I myself just answered my own question. You CANNOT just call the IRS, unless you get a letter from them via mail.
