There are two reasons I have for cancelling my filing with TurboTax - unbelievable repeated pressure to go with MAX and no option to file only Federal, not State. Bye.

With respect to TurboTax not having an option to file no state, you need to go to the "State" return area and on the "Your State Returns" screen just select the "Delete" hyperlink next to the state you do not want to file and it will be deleted.

Not sure what you mean by MAX.

Regarding State return, if you continue on the e-file path, you will be able to specify to only e-file the federal return. Then, you can print the state return for mailing.

You are free to remove max by following these Instructions and you can also Remove State.
