I understand, this can be confusing. If the box is empty on your W-2, leave the box blank when you enter your W-2 info. Only some W-2s will have a verification code this year. On the other hand, if you had a verification code on your W-2, but experienced an error after entering it, just delete the code. It won’t delay the processing of your tax return.
