Is it asking for the Payer's federal EIN? That should be on the Form 1099-NEC that you received, but on the 1099-NEC it's called "Payer's TIN." (It could be a Social Security number instead of an EIN, but that's not common.)
I am having the same issue. I work for the State of Connecticut and only receive a W2 every year. I've never received a 1099-NEC. I cannot file my taxes without putting in this imaginary 'Payer's Federal EIN.' How can I proceed? Thanks in advance for your help!
If there is an income source showing up in your return that does not apply to tax year 2020, you can safely delete the form from your 2020 tax return.
