The only income I had last year was interest income, but it was barely $700, do I still need to report it?

I was told by one of the turbo tax experts that I didn't have to do my taxes because of not having income but I did receive almost $700 of interest income. Do I still need to do my taxes for only that type of income and amount?

You don’t have to file if that’s your only income.
