the irs told me to redue my 2020 tax that you placed my retirement i n the wages section and not the ss section

TurboTax does not place it there.   You must have entered it in correctly.

A 1099-R is entered in Retirement Plans & Social Security, IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)

A SSA-1099 is entered in Retirement Plans & Social Security, SSA-1099.

Not in the W-2 section.
