The IRS is mailing me a check instead of direct deposit like I asked, how will my fees for Turbo Tax be paid?

If the IRS is holding your refund, mailed you a check, or they reduced or offset your refund to the point where it’s not enough to cover your TurboTax fees, you'll receive a Request for Payment email, which includes instructions on how you can pay your TurboTax fees (minus the Refund Processing fee, if any).

  • If you do not pay your fees within the time frame specified in the email, you’ll receive 2 additional Account Debit Pending reminder emails.

  • Finally, if your fees are still unpaid 45 days after your original estimated refund date, we’ll debit your bank account for your TurboTax fees and you’ll receive a Debit to your bank account has been initiated notification email.

Note:  If the IRS releases your refund after you've paid your TurboTax fees, we won't deduct your TurboTax fees twice. However, we still deduct the Refund Processing fee, if any.

This is the second year in a row mine has been mailed- last year turbo tax blamed the IRS and charged me the full fee for having my fee taken out of my refund and for efile- I’ve had the same bank for over 10 years and have verified with the IRS that my return was not filed with direct deposit as an option and no banking info sent to them- I can’t get anyone at Turbo Tax to say anything other than basically that sucks but it’s the IRS not us and there must be an issue with your bank- so my bank apparently allows anyone BUT the IRS to direct deposit!!!

I filed January 27th i opted to use refund processing service its now march 14th and i still haven't received my refund however on march 10th turbo tax sent me a bill minus the refund processing service fee i paid turbo tax but i found out my taxes will be released this week will i still have to go through the processing service or will my refund just come straight to my bank account?

Or can i ask the irs to send me a paper check now because ive already paid my refund filing fees?

It will still go through the refund processing bank sbtpg but they won't take the fees out again.  Except maybe the 39.99 Refund Processing Service charge (44.99 in California) if you didn't pay it with the other fees.
