The fix my return button doesn't actually allow me to fix anything. It keeps me in a loop of refiling without fixing.

Try the "view" tab, switch to "forms". If there are errors, there will be a red exclamation mark next to the form that needs correction.  From there, click on the form and correct the info there or delete the form altogether.
