The cost of TurboTax goes up after tonight. Do I have to file by tonight or just pay by tonight? I'm done but I'd rather not file if I don't have to

Do I have to file my taxes tonight or just pay for them to avoid the March 1price increase? I want my 2021 stimulus to be based on 2019 AGI not 2020

You just have to pay the TT fees (with a credit or debit card).  Since I usually owe taxes, I do this every year, and then file on April 14.

You can pay the TurboTax account fees to avoid the price increase.

To pay the TurboTax online account fees by credit card, without completing the 2020 return at this time, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. On the next page, to pay by credit card, click Pay Now. The next screen will show a review of your Fees, click on Continue. Complete the next screen to pay by credit card and click Continue.

The Recovery Rebate Credit is based on the 2020 Federal tax return for you filing status, dependents and your 2020 AGI

Economic Impact Payments were based on your 2018 or 2019 tax year information. The Recovery Rebate Credit is similar except that the eligibility and the amount are based on 2020 information you include on your 2020 tax return.
