Hello TurboTax Team,

I am experiencing the same issues.  Below are the browsers I use, updated as of today, 2/16/21:

1. Google Chrome 88.0.4324.182 - Deleted cache and cookies, and still a problem.  I keep getting a pop-up for "Page Unresponsive".  I clicked on "Wait" multiple times.

2. Microsoft Edge 88.0.705.68 - Deleted cache and cookies, and still a problem.  Just like Chrome, I keep getting a pop-up for "This page isn't responding".  I clicked on "Wait" multiple times.

In both instances, the 1099-B worksheet is just not rendering correctly as I keep keep getting the buffering icon (blue scrolling wheel of death).  I've been a loyal Intuit TurboTax customer for years and I have not experienced this issue before.  Please kindly advise.  Thank you in advance.

I am having the same problem. This is the last thing holding up my return, and I've been trying to submit all day. I can't get it to work on any browser and tried to delete cookies and cache on 3 different browsers. I spent 30 minutes on hold to talk to someone on the phone because the call-back option doesn't work - it either ends immediately, or I answer, nobody is there, and after several seconds the call ends.  I don't understand how I'm supposed to complete the return? Ugh.

It is pretty common to receive a 1099-B with incomplete or missing information.

If you would like more information about entering missing data, click on button in Turbo Tax.

If your 1099-B is from Chase Bank, there  may have been a problem downloading the original 1099-B.  For additional information see the following link:

Thank you. My 1099-B is not from Chase Bank. It takes forever to load, but eventually I can enter the missing data. However, as soon as I press "continue," it just loads back to the same page. I don't know how to successfully enter the data and get out of this loop.

Hi George,

There is a simple way around this.  Instead of having TurboTax fetch the 1099 forms from your bank, there should be an option to "input yourself" (or something along those lines) and to add the transactional totals/summary data.  I uploaded my 1099 forms in the document tab for reference and as a small insurance policy (these forms are sent to the IRS as mandatory by the brokers/banks anyway).

Thanks! Ugh. I tried to do this but it still won't let me proceed. No matter what I enter, whenever I go to file, it says that it's finding an error that has to be fixed on my federal return in order to proceed. And it takes me back to that same 1099-B page where I keep having the same error. What a waste of time and money.

Use the Chrome browser, but first clear browsing data

Click the three dots in the upper right corner
Select Settings

Privacy and Security

Clear browser data for all time

Then sign in to TurboTax on the Chrome browser
Go to Tax Tools,

Tools, Delete a Form and delete your1099-B and any related worksheets
Go to the program and enter the 1099-B again manually

Go through the pages in the income section until it ends and then run Review again.

The error should be gone.

This is maddening. I've been trying to finish my return for 3 days. I'm ready to do it all over with HR Block. I've cleared my cache. I've tried 3 different browsers. This needs to be fixed now. I am paying for this frustration?!

The fix is doing it myself? I guess I don't need TurboTax for that. Now it becomes unresponsive when I try to delete it. I give up.

I am having this same problem. Seems like you can bypass it and print out your tax return to send it in the mail. You just can't do Efile. Definitely annoying and inconvenient, but oh well.

I've done all of the cache/browswer/delete and reupload file suggestions and can't get anything to work. But I've already paid the $ because this occurred during the final review phase. At this point I just want a refund so that I can try someone else. I've spent way too many hours trying to deal with this. Turbotax should be paying me for all of the lost hours. Horrible experience. I've been using Turbotax for several years and this is the last time.

I solved the problem! At least for myself. I really hope this works for anyone who comes across this. If you're confused shoot me a message and I'll get back to you when I see it.

When turbotax asks you to review something that page is super glitchy. So you're gonna want to manually edit things. When it's asking you to enter a date it actually is entering in that date. The problem is that it looks like it's asking you to enter it for one stock when actually it's entering it for a different stock. And you have no way of knowing which stock it is asking for on the review page.

So go into the federal tab and find where you can manually edit your individual stocks. And the problem is that any stocks that you bought on various dates don't transfer to turbotax correctly. So you don't need to manually enter every stock. Just the ones you bought on various dates. So if you go to the tax info that your brokerage sent you then you should be able to see the dates you purchased stocks. On any stock that says various instead of a date then you want to find that stock on turbotax and click "something other than a date" and click "various". You need to make sure you change this for every stock that you bought on various dates. I missed one the first time and thought this didn't fix it.

Thank you for this! Can you help me find where I can manually edit them? I don't see the place to do that.

Sure thing @mcarolino!

Click on "Federal" on the left sidebar

Make sure you're on the "wages & income" page

Look for where it say "stocks, mutual funds, bonds, other" to the right of that there should be a button that says either "review" or "edit/add"

Click on that button.

This will bring you to the investment sales summary page.

You should see a list of things with saying your brokerage and other stock info. on the left side of this all is a "edit" button. click that.

Click the blue "continue" button.

This should bring you to your list of stocks.

This is what you should see for any given stock. You want to click that pencil button on the right that I circled in red.

Scroll down until you see where you can edit the acquired date

Click "Something other than a date"

click "Various"

Hope this helps! This will only help if turbotax was getting caught up on the same problem that it was for me. If it wasn't then let me know what question turbotax keeps asking you and I will see if I can figure it out.

I followed those steps, but it seems to be getting hung up. This is the notice I get....

It's weird, because Friday it was getting up up on a Walmart option, and this time it's BNGO shares.

@mcarolino

Looks like the same type of message I was getting. Did you edit every stock that you bought at various dates or just the one that turbotax says its getting caught up on? When I was getting the "Check This Entry" page it was for TTCF shares, but I actually had to edit about 10 other stocks before it was fixed. So you'll need to edit any stocks that were bought on more than one date. I see your brokerage is Apex Clearing Corp. So I'm guessing you use Webull. Same as me. If you go to your WeBull app and pull up your tax statement you can look through all of your stock purchases. Look for 1A Description of property and then under that is a list of all your stock purchases and sales. under the 1b - Date Acquired column you'll see a bunch of dates. Ignore any stocks that has a date listed and look for ones that say "Various" these are the problem stocks. Now you'll want to find these on turbotax and edit them the way I laid out in my previous messages. If you need me to I can get some screenshots to help you find the right info on the webull app/document. If you already did all this then I would just double check and make sure you didn't miss one. When I first did this I missed a stock and was still getting the same old "Check This Entry" Message even though I had already fixed the stock that it was saying it for. It wasn't until I got them all fixed that it finally let me file.

You have been extremely helpful. Thank you so much for helping out a stranger! I'm going to go back through and edit each one now.

Unfortunately, this isn't a great move. When you go with a printable copy to forego issues with submitting electronically, TurboTax just excludes from your printable copy any 1099-B transactions that it deems to be in error. So you're stuck with submitting an incorrect return. I know this because I double checked my tax return against my 1099-B and I was missing some transactions. This is extremely irresponsible and I wouldn't be surprised if this leads to customers filing lawsuits against them later.

Basically TurboTax really needs to fix this issue or it's customers will demand refunds and leave out of frustration.

Edit: Oh wow you can't even reply directly to a message in this thread. It's all chronological. So their software is buggy and their support site is archaic. What a joke.

Thanks! I was able to delete the file and manually enter the summary-level information. Ugh. What a pain that was!

@this software has bugs

Yeah this forum is kind of confusing to use in a way that doesn't just make it more confusing for other people. Their software isn't any less confusing at times. But thank you for pointing out why it's bad to just skip the turbotax review! I had no idea it just wouldn't print out right. I'm glad I found out how to fix my taxes instead of resorting to sending them in wrong.
