Here is how to handle federal and state estimated taxes whether you have already paid or need to pay.

 

First, if you paid them already:

Estimated taxes Already Paid

Estimated taxes paid to state

 

Second, if you need to pay them:

Can TurboTax calculate next year's federal estimated taxes?

Can TurboTax calculate the estimated payments for next year's state taxes?

I Paid estimated federal taxes and said no to state taxes paid-the return shows $1,200 paid to Federal AND 1,200 for State taxes paid- how to correct this????

This might be the number from the state taxes you paid on your wages. Check the W-2's that you reported on your return to see what they add up to. If this is it, great, then problem is solved. If not, please post back here so we can trouble shoot.
