Tax Year Prior to 2020: I was looking for a job and travelled for interviews and the application process was expensive as well. this adds up to around 4500$, should I file an itemized deduction?

It depends on how many other itemized deductions you have.  These expenses go on Schedule A Itemized Deductions where they are subject to the 2%-of-adjusted-gross-income limit.   If your income will allow it, and other itemized deductions are more than the Standard Deduction for your filing status, then it may benefit you. (see below)
