Tax Year Prior to 2020: I e-filed my federal and state tax on Saturday the 8th as of today Thursday the 13th they both still show “pending”. Should it take this long to be accepted or rejected?

It depends on the number of returns that were filed during that time period. The IRS and/or your state can take up to 5 business days to accept or reject the returns.
