This doesn't work and Intuit doesn't respond to correct things. Worst customer service!
I got asked for the same form & amended my taxes but I cannot find the 8962 form at all other than on the IRS website.
this doesn't work. Need instructions that are relevant. Not crap you think might work
Will this help? If you already filed and the IRS is requesting it
No since the Form 8962 isn't showing up in the PDF from the Print Center...
So how would I go about having turbotax complete the 8962 form
Here is how to get the form 8962 filled out. Please note: You are NOT going to amend your return and you are NOT going to add a state return. These directions are quirky but will get the job done.
The IRS may adjust your refund once they receive your form 8962.
I followed the instructions like you listed but can't seem to figure out how to print the 8962 form completed.
The instructions above did not permit you to enter the 1095-A?
Or you are having trouble printing the paperwork?
After you have completed the 1095-A entry and IRS form 8962, follow these directions:
Turbo tax software says that on or after the 20th of February there will be an update , my return was rejected because of 8962 missing . How can Intuit forget to include that in the software which is mandatory from the IRS to calculate the right deductions ?
I have entered everything the same as last year and this is the first time I am having this issue and no one at turbotax seems to have a clear answer as to what exactly will happen .
In Turbotax it says that I will be able to refile for free after making the corrections and other tax experts from turbotax are saying that it will have to be printed and send by fax to the IRS .
I didn't receive a letter from the IRS it was an email from Turbotax
Form 8962 is available for filing.
The Individual Shared Responsibility Payment, this has been reduced to $0 for 2019. In the past, Form 8965 was required if you did not have healthcare coverage, but the form is no longer needed on your return. If you did not have healthcare coverage in 2019, you no longer need to report that or list an exemption on the healthcare requirement.
However, if you purchased insurance through the marketplace and received a 1095-A, that must still be reported on your return. This will calculate the Net Premium Tax Credit on Form 8962. This form reconciles the amount of the credit available to you with the amount already received as an Advance Premium Tax Credit. The result could be additional credit owed to you, or you may have to repay any amount already received in advance. Because of either of these results, it is important for taxpayers to include the information from Form 1095-A on their return.
Follow these steps:
I filed my taxes on 1/20/20 Federal . Now the IRS wants a copy of form 8962. How do I fix this
I already filed with Turbo did not do this section and I cannot get my federal return. Help me fix this I did pay you guys
You need to enter form 1095-A on your Tax return and TurboTax will automatically generate form 8962. If you return was rejected, you can reopen it and add the 1095-A form.
To reopen your return:
If your return is accepted, you need to amend it to make any changes.
Here's how to amend:
Amended return can't be e-file, you need to print it and mail it in.
On the Tax Home web page when the Form 1040X for amending a 2019 tax return becomes available there will be a link - Amend (change) return. Form 1040X is expected to be available on 02/27/2020.
This is really unbelievable , intuit didn't include that form in Turbotax and people who thought everything would be included in the software after spending 90.00 dollars had their return rejected or for some obscure reasons accepted but now have to print and mail things to the IRS.
My return was rejected because 8962 was missing , I have updated the software today and I have no clue if the error was fixed because I revisited the 1095-A section but didn't answer different question than the ones I had before I sent it the first time .
I want to make sure that the error was fixed before E-Filing again , very poor customer service and for the first time in years I am thinking that I will give H&R a try next year .
The problem has been corrected. Some people have had to delete their 1095-A and reenter it.
so should I do that , delete all entries in the 1095-A and renter everything like I did the first time ?
Thanks for the info , what I don't understand is that form 8962 isn't one we fill out , it is done automatically in the background in Turbotax ?
Yes - If your filing was rejected because of the 8982. Go back into Turbo Tax, delete your 1095-A and then fill it out over again. It is fixed now.
