You might not be able to import your 1099 despite signing in with the correct bank or brokerage login. Below are some reasons this can occur.

I'm having the same problem with downloading Fidelity 1099.   Contacted the Fidelity technical staff today and worked closely with them to resolve the issue including remoting my computer screen to them, no luck.   After trying a number of the recommendations from the TT2018 user community nothing worked.   I have the CD version of TT2018 and should be able to download up to 2000 transactions.  Need Intuit staff to address this issue ASAP.

Owen567,  I learned from Fidelity on 25Feb2019 that they were not yet setup to import 1099's into TT2018.   I was finally able to successfully import my 1099's on 27Feb2019 so it should be working now.  If you haven't tried to import since 27Feb2019 try again.  Regards,

I have been trying for seven years to download brokerage 1099's from Fidelity.  Never works.  Intuit does not care.  Their answer:  enter the data manually.

This import was unsuccessful, again. Can a support agent fix this, or is turbo tax a complete waste.

I couldn't download the 1099 either.  Tried 5 times different days.  I'm going to a local tax man after 6 years with TurboTax.

I've given up on TurboTax.  I will use a local tax preparer.

Actually it started working for me a few updates ago, not sure why. Just type it in by hand if you can't get it to work and select summaries for short and long term instead of every transaction.

I just had a client getting a message the information requested is unavailable. His password was over 20 characters long. He reset his password to one with 12-characters and tried the import again and all of the 1099 information imported.

I have used your service several times, but this year Fidelity wont import to intuit and you have NO ONE to help without charging me? This may be the end for me....

I think I can shed some light on this.  I imported my 1099 from etrade on Monday and it was wrong.  Then I tried again early Tuesday -- still way, way wrong.

Then I tried again late Tuesday and they said not available until Thursday.  I assume they realized their download was working incorrectly and need two days to fix it.  (Anyway, this is my hope.)

Product support told me that Turbo tax is not intended to do everything for you -- LOL.  I will not use it again.

Actually turbo tax can't download 1099  from almost any bank, or  brokerage company.

If you are unable to import your brokerage information, you can still enter it manually.

Here's where you enter your 1099-B in TurboTax:

  1. Open (continue) your return if it isn't already open.
  2. In TurboTax, search for 1099-B and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2019. If you see Here's the info we have for these investment sales, select Add More Sales.
  4. Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
  5. At Let's get your tax info, choose type it in yourself.
  6. Follow the instructions.

Make sure you're using the proper login on the import page and that you have a working internet connection. A wired connection, if available, may be more stable than wireless.

Finally, if you're still not able to import your 1099, you can always enter it manually. Select I'll type it in myself or Skip Import and proceed. Make sure you keep hard copies of your documents if ever get asked to produce by the IRS.

Hi,

I can import one Fidelity with over 1,000 1099B transactions.

Now I'm trying to import my primary account but the response states that there is no tax-related info to import at this time. This is not correct. Obviously, I have the Fidelity tax form.

It would be impossible for me to enter manually over 1,000's transactions for my 1099B.

Help?
