**Tax Year 2018 or earlier** My $36,000 alimony paid/deduction isn't being added to my total deduction balance of $22,397. Why is this?

Alimony paid is an adjustment to income reducing your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).  It is not a tax deduction.  It is reported on Form 1040 Line 31a

You can view your Form 1040 at any time.  Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen.  Click on Tools.  Click on View Tax Summary.  Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
