Tax Payment by direct withdrawal

I arranged for a direct withdrawal from my bank for payment of my taxes and authorized the money to be released on 4/14/2025.  My return is reported, by way of USPS tracking, as delayed.  My bank does not show the money released on 4/14/2025.   When should I expect the money to be release as payment on my taxes and will there be charges as it is now after the 4/15/2025.

Also, I recommend that these contingencies be added to your Tax program in future renditions or at least more conveniently accessible.

It's not clear what you did. It seems that you filed your tax return by mail, since you are talking about USPS tracking. But you cannot pay the tax you owe by direct debit if you file by mail. Direct debit is only available with e-filing. CatinaT1 thought you e-filed, but that does not seem to be the case. How exactly did you arrange for "direct withdrawal" from your bank? Did you use IRS Direct Pay or EFTPS? Or did you initially tell TurboTax you wanted to e-file, and select direct debit, but then print your tax return and file by mail instead of e-filing? If that's what you did, your direct debit information did not get sent to the IRS. The information is not on the printed return, as you can see by looking at your copy of the Form 1040 that you mailed. TurboTax would not have offered direct debit as a payment method, or allowed you to enter direct debit information, if you had selected "File by mail."
