Tax for Visa holders leaving the US

Hello, I am a UK citizen on an L1 visa since 2018, I am leaving the US and returning to the UK in Jan 2021. Can anyone advise what I need to do regarding my taxes? Are there forms I need to fill out or filing I need to do before I leave? I have been trying to contact the IRS for the past week by phone but have been unable to speak to anyone. Thank you

No one can file a 2020 tax return until 2021, so there is nothing for you to do right now in regard to filing your 2020 tax return.

You should make sure that any employer you worked for in 2020 knows where to send your W-2's.  They have until January 31 to issue W-2's.

If somehow you do not return to the U.S. in January as planned, you can file a tax return from anywhere in the world that provides internet access.  In order to pay for your TT software you have to use a U.S. based credit/debit card.

Not sure if you are a non-resident alien--if you are NRA:

NON RESIDENT ALIEN

If you are a non-resident alien, your return must be filed on Form 1040NR, which cannot be prepared using TurboTax.  You can use TT’s partner, sprintax:
