Switching from MFS to MFJ & associated estimated tax payments

Example: 2020 returns files as MFS... estimated tax payments for 2021 were made individually as MFS.... but want to switch to MFJ in 2021.

How do you record the separate estimated tax payments?  Will it cause the return to be rejected when trying to file electronically?  Will the IRS be able to match the separate estimated tax payments made by both parties onto the MFJ return?

I use the desk top version of home & business

Thank you for your time~

You will add the estimated taxes paid by each spouse for each installment and report the totals of each installment on the joint tax return.

This will not cause an error when e-filing.

The IRS will be able to reconcile the amounts paid.
