Stuck on confirm your financial institution info no matter by manual input or auto import

I tried auto-import from TD and I also have multiple forms from other brokers, all of them need me to input financial institute names, and the loop became infinite.

Please try updating the software.

How do I update my TurboTax CD/Download software program?

If that does not work, there is a link at the bottom of this article for manual updates.

I expect that you're trying to post a 1099-B.

Go to Personal

  1. Then Personal Income
  2. Scroll to Investment Income
  3. Select Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other
  4. Did you sell any Investments in 2021? = Yes
  5. Did you get a 1099-B .... = Yes
  6. Let us enter your investment sale info = I'll Type it Myself
  7. Bank Or brokerage = My bank/brokerage isn't here
  8. Name of bank or brokerage = Any
  9. Account number = Blank
  10. Tell us about your 1099-B = I'll enter one sale at a time
  11. Enter your information

If you are trying to post a different form, or if this post doesn't resolve the issue please give us more details.

Entering "Any" was the cryptic secret trick.

Up to 2020 the entry of the financial institution worked like a charm. Actually, T Tax did import the manual institution from prior year's return info. The current infinite loop and awkward workaround is a frustrating and time-consuming  bug waiting to be fixed. Other than that - T Tax has worked like a charm.
