sTATE TAX FEE

i HAVE BEEN PURCHASING TURBO TAX PREMIER FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I buy fed and state version. This year I am being asked to pay $20 to efile my state return. Why was this not mentioned prior to my purchase. An is this something knew that turbo tax is charging?

When using the TurboTax desktop editions there is a state tax return e-file fee that is currently $20. With an increase to $25 on March 1. You can avoid this fee by printing and mailing the state tax return.

The e-file fee for a state tax return has been in the TurboTax desktop editions since at least 2004 when I had to e-file a 2003 state tax return at a cost of $14.95..

I order turbo tax online and have it downloaded to my computer. For years now I have ordered premier level of TT and I have never had to to pay additionally to download my CT state return. Is this new?
