Yes, when you file early, sometimes you have to wait to file due to the forms not being completely up to date yet.

You can just wait a bit and submit the return again. If you want more detailed help with this issue, respond with the name of your state.

The name of the State is Indiana. Form (IN_FirstTimeChild-INDEP_TY23)

I already electronic filed once and it was rejected. I came back on February 1st as instructed and installed the update to the State form. I refiled as instructed in TurboTax with State, but it was rejected the second time with the same message.

Do you have a first time dependent? Can you verify if you received $3,000 for the exemption? This is something new for this tax year and I want to make sure it isn't a programming issue.

Would LOVE an update on this.
When following the prompts, it explained this is new for 2023 tax year so select yes.  Did just that, and now getting rejected.

The forms are available and we have not had any other reports of an issue. Can you run and update so you have the latest software and try filing again?

Let me know if that works.

I feel this is section is poorly worded in TurboTax. A little research lead me to understand that this deduction can only be taken on the first year you claim a child. Since I have claimed my children since birth, this apparently does not apply to me. Why does TurboTax not calculate this on its own, since I have been using TurboTax every year and importing previous years.
