State return in turbo tax is different than HR Block

I am preparing my federal and state for GA in Turbo tax and in HR Block.... Federal shows the same figures. but GA State shows a big difference between  both tax prep apps.

Compare line by line to see the difference.

You posted that there was a big difference. See where the difference between the two occurred.

the difference is at the bottom line....

HR block State Refund = 136

TurboTax State Refund = 1313

We can’t see your returns so no one here can explain the discrepancy. Obviously there has to be a difference on the returns before you they get to the refund amount.

what details you need to explain?

I did not file yet, since I dont wanna file something which is wrong.

The different must be somewhere in the tax withholding/prepayment by the employer.

So I assume you got a W-2?  If so check what you reported for tax withheld in box 17 for each return.

I checked this ... yes got a W2.

Now i was able to reconcile HR blocks and Turbo Tax.

Box 17 is the tax prepayment from my employer.... the reason why Turbo Tax gave me a higher refund was because I also reported "additional" tax payments and entered the value of box 17 again in there. I removed this now from turbo tax and now both are matching at 148 Refund from State. (unfortunately it decreased).

does that make sense to you?

Makes perfect sense. Glad you were able to solve it.
