State of Residence when permanent move from nontaxable to taxable sate in midyear

In 2024, I moved from Nevada (nontaxable state) on 8/1/2024 to Oregon (taxable state) for remainder of the year.

1. What is State of Residency?  Most of my 2024 year was spent in Nevada, but Oregon was where I resided at the end of 2024.

2. How is the correct tax calculated for Oregon for 8/1 through 12/31/2024?

Your current state of residency is Oregon most likely.  You will file a Part Year Oregon return and will be able to allocate the income you earned while an Oregon resident.

Oregon calculates your tax then applies the Oregon income percentage to the total tax to determine the tax due.
