Started a form I didn't have, but now have to fill it out.

I thought I had a 1099-R so I started filling it out, but I misread my paperwork. I went back to the Wages and Income section and started the Retirement Plans and Social Security section over, clicking No to "Did you receive any retirement income in 2019?". Now I'm on the Smart Check section and it's saying I have to fill out more info for the 1099-R form. But I don't have the form, so I can't fill it out. How can I bypass this, or make the program understand that I don't actually have a 1099-R form to record?

I found an answer that worked!

If you have not filed, here are the steps (desktop):

  •  Open up your tax return if you have not already done so.
  •  At the right upper corner, select Forms
  • To your left, you would see a list of all the tax forms and worksheets, scroll down and select Schedule K-1. (or in my case, the 1099-R)
  • While Schedule K-1 appears,  at the bottom of the screen, select Delete Form.

You solved your issue by deleting a form.  For other that may have a similar question, here are instructions for deleting a specific form using either TurboTax Online or the CD/downloaded TurboTax.
