Standard Deduction not offered as Married filing Separately

I was never prompted with question of itemizing or taking the Standard Deduction.  My spouse hasn't entered her return yet.  We want to file separately.   TurboTax is taking me directly to itemizing deductions without any option for the Standard Deduction.  And, when I zero'd out all of the itemized deductions, there is still no Standard Deduction presented.   The formums aren't allowing me to respond to the Experts questions either.  Please let me know what I need to do to get the system to present the Standard Deduction.  I appreciate your help---again, it appears I'm locked out of replying.  much appreciated--!

The standard deduction will be automatically recorded by TurboTax once any income is entered on the tax return.  And the standard deduction amounts increased significantly for 2018, so even if you were entering itemized amounts, your return may not have switched to the standard deduction if the itemized amount total was still under the standard deduction amount.

To double check your return, take the steps below to preview your 1040 form before filing and see what amount is recorded on line 8 of the 1040 form.

Also, here is information on what the standard deduction amounts are for 2018:

thanks Julie--it doesn't give me the Standard Deduction as Married/filing separately at all when I click through this section.
