The health insurance details you will need to report on your tax return will depend on your unique situation:

  • If you received Form 1095-A, you must enter it.
  • If you have a health savings account (HSA), you need to report if you added or spent funds.
  • If you or anyone on your return had Health Insurance Marketplace coverage at any point in 2025, wait until you have your Form 1095-A  to file your tax return. Filing without it will result in a rejection from the IRS. You should receive the form by mid-February if you purchased health insurance through the government.
