So I am having a rejected return as it says Form 8960 doesn't make schedule 1 - I received a 1099NEC put in info - it keeps acting like/showing a 1099 MISC - help?

Should I switch and say it is 1099MISC as has been in other years - There is NO rental income here -

Your tax return may be affected by an IRS filing issue outlined in this Best Answer.  If so, the IRS forecasts a resolution date of late February to Mid-March 2023.

Forms availability says that IRS Form 8960 is available for use.

The issue concerning the 1099-NEC / 1099-MISC confuses me.  Are you presuming that the 1099-NEC / 1099-MISC is the cause of the Form 8960 error?  Or is it a straightforward question about the form?

Is the income being reported in box 1 of the 1099-NEC?  How have you reported this income on past years tax returns?  Please clarify.
