Small Business Owner Tax return file with spouse

My spouse and I own a small business and our taxes are filed "married filing joint".

When filing, do both of us include the business EIN under our individual social sec whiles filing  "married filing joint" or one of us can include the EIN under our Social Sec and it covers for all since we are both owners and filing married jointly

Hi @Kaydouble07

Congratulations on starting a business.  As a married couple you can file as a joint venture under IRS rules found HERE.

Spouses make the election on a jointly filed Form 1040 or 1040-SR by dividing all items of income, gain, loss, deduction, and credit between them in accordance with each spouse's respective interest in the joint venture, and each spouse filing with the Form 1040 or 1040-SR a separate Schedule C

You will just need to make a Schedule C for each of you and follow the guide above or in the link .  The EIN will be included on both Schedule C's

Thank you for using TurboTax!
