Should the property state and local tax deduction be 10000 regardless of input I've added? I've only added one entry and it was for 2500, but my review shows it at 10000

Please check your entries for errors.
The SALT (state and local tax) deduction at capped at $10,000. That's the maximum. If you claimed less, then the deduction is what you claimed.

It can come from other things. Which includes property tax, any state tax paid like for last year’s return and includes any state withholding from your W2s and any 1099s you have. And any taxes in W2 box 14 and 19 like SDI or VDI.

It really won't matter. The system is defaulting to the maximum SALT (state and local tax ) deduction.

@old taxguy The user is saying they only entered 2500 and it still gave them the full 10,000.
