Should I file as single or divorced? Been divorced for many years, ex-husband is deceased. I want to get the maximum refund available to me.

Divorced is not a filing status.    The software asks about divorce in order to navigate you to certain questions that might be pertinent.   If you have been divorced for years and do not have any qualifying children as dependents then you are Single.
