Rollover IRA distributions

I made a required distribution from my Rollover IRA to a chartible scholarship fund at Colo State U. of $2500.  Can I claim this distribution as an educational expense deduction on 2024 taxes?  I understand it can not be a charity deduction.

No, an educational expense is for you or someone on your return to attend college. Your distribution may have been tax free.  A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is a tax-free donation from an IRA to a qualified charity. QCDs are available to individuals who are at least 70.5 years old.
