retrieving last year's 2023 turbotax files - why does the new 2024 installation overwrite the prior year's return? How do I remedy? Prevent in the future.

The TurboTax program is installed in a separate directory from the tax data files and PDF's saved.  The tax data files are stored, by default, in the TurboTax folder within the Documents directory.
