Require 2018 documents, only .tax2018 file available for download, installed 2024 desktop, won't open. Installed 2018 desktop, won't open as can't acquire state.

Sorry you can’t install 2018 program.  They only support the last 3 years.   If you can’t download the pdf file and only have the .tax2018 data file,  You could try the TaxPrinter service (not connected with Turbo Tax) to convert a .tax file to pdf at

If you completed and filed the 2018 tax return using the TurboTax online editions, there will be a link to download a PDF of the 2018 return.

 

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

 

Start the 2024 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

 

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year 2018 and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
