Reporting qualified educational expenses not covered by 1098-T

Per my understanding IRS regards withdrawals from Coverdell ESAs to cover the following three categories of expenditures as Qualified Educational Expenses:

  • Tuition payments
  • Housing expenses
  • Food expenses

I am able to report the money paid to college using the form 1098-T.  However,  I am unable to find a way to report qualified educational expenses that cover Housing and Food. How does one go about reporting these expenditures.

Could I get some help in this regard.

Regards,

Ramesh

Form 1099-Q reports distributions and benefits from Coverdell education savings accounts and 529 plans. It's reported on the tax return of the person whose Social Security number is on the form.

Entering Form 1099-Q distribution for a Coverdell or 529 Plan:;

  1. Open your return.
  2. Search for Form 1099-Q in the search box.
  3. Click on jump to 1099-Q link.
