Perhaps some terminology/definitions would be in order:

AMEND:- your return is what you do AFTER your return has been filed and accepted by the IRS and/or state.  (No additional charge)

CHANGE:- your return is what you do BEFORE your return has been filed --simply go back to the respective information and change it as needed.

CORRECT:- your return is what you do AFTER you attempted to file your return and it is rejected by either IRS, or state --again, simply go back to the respective information and change it as needed.

I got an email and followed back to turbo tax. Fix the the federal AGI area and federal showed: Rejected: Return reviewed. But when I went to state tax, click the "help me fix it", it didn't show error and just asked me to pay for e-file again or choose to mail file for both federal and state. Where went wrong? Do I need to pay again?

@bubba60 No, you would not have to pay to fix your rejected return, unless forms, schedules ect that need added to your tax return will now require you to upgrade. If we detect that your tax situation requires expanded coverage, like deductions for owning a home or self-employment income, we'll prompt you to upgrade to a version that supports the forms you need so we can maximize your tax deductions and ensure you file an accurate return.

This is probably why you are being asked to pay.
