Reject code IND-132

My return was rejected with code IND-132.  It also said that when the return has 4972ind - Form 4972 must be attached.  Form 4972 is for taxpayers born before 1936.  I was born in 1953 and my husband was born in 1956. I went to the forms tab on my return in TurboTax and saw that the 4972 form is there and has Do not file at the top.  How do I fix this so I can e-file my return?

I think there is a problem with Turbo Tax. I had the same issue. I was rejected twice. Finally, I went to View > Forms and opened the Form 1040 (1040Sr) worksheet. In page 3, Tax Smart Worksheet item D it was adding $600 (tax from additional form 4972). I deleted the 600 and left the line blank. It removed the x from line 16 box 2. Then closed the form, reviewed the taxes again and submitted one more time (it added the $600 to the refund).

Now the Federal filing has been accepted. Hope there are no more problems.

I'm not a tax expert but this approach worked for me. There was no reason to invoke the form 4972. We did not get a lump sum and both of us are not so old.

Thank you so much!!!!! That worked and you're right, this is a Turbotax issue.  Form 4972 should never be flagged for taxpayers born at 1936.

Thank you so much! This is the kind of problem that should be corrected quickly by T/T.  It has been reported at least 3 weeks ago!!!  Your solution worked great and probably saved me a lot of time and possibly even doing a printed return!

Thanks again,

Dan

Thanks for the info.  Struggling with this problem for two days.  Calls to TT were less than helpful unless you want to pay $119 for tax specialist help - for a simple question that you've identified as a known error.

Appreciate your finding a solution.

I agree with your feelings. I think T/T must be having trouble getting people to give good advice and the help  their clients deserve.  This problem is clearly a software problem that no one wants to address!

I had exactly the same problem.  Even deleting the Form 4972 didn't fix it. I saw the post on this topic and found the 600 of "income" from Form 4972 and deleted it, I will file for the third time and hope it fixes the problem.  Turbo Tax would owe me money for this mistake as the correction reduced the balance due on the filing. Hey Turbo Tax - fix this. I have used your program for years and this is the first time (I am aware of) that you program was just faulty,

Thank you! I had just about given up when your solution directed me to the smart worksheet. Incredibly helpful.
