Received refund from IRS (as IRS TREAS 310 TAX REF) was less than refund computed by TurboTax. Why the difference ?

Is it a "refund offset" ? It was only 1 week ago, so an explanation letter should arrive soon.

Have you contacted the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) at the number in the second link?  They could tell you if there was an offset to your return. You can contact the Treasury Offset Program at 800-304-3107.

I had the same situation happen to me this year. I called the offset number listed and it said there were no non tax offsets. Now who do we ask?

This has just happened to me this year. I received a refund deposit, but not the entire amount. From my research, I have found that code 499 is what would have shown up instead of 310 if this refund was to offset a balance of some kind. I will wait until February 27 (the estimated refund date) to see if they deposit the remaining amount of my expected refund and then update my post.

What I have discovered is that if there is money missing from your return that means you owe money to a state or federal government. I now live in Missouri and owes money in Kansas, this is why a portion of my returns were missing.

I think that is the stimulus check. We haven’t gotten our refund and were told it was stalled. I filed Feb 3rd and it still says precessing. I see a pending deposit in my account for the 15th (which is when they are saying the first stimulus deposits are expected to hit the banks) and it is the exact amount that we should be getting from this stimulus. But, lower than our return.

That sounds good that you're being notified about the stimulus check.  As far as the regular return is concerned.  I suggest you contact your local IRS office and request additional information on the status of the return.  To find a Local Office:     Local IRS Offices

It is the description you will see for your stimulus payment.
