Received a 1099 INT for my mother's estate

My mother passed away in 1994.  My father was the exector who has since passed away.   I did a search for unclaimed property in NJ and my mother had some retired accounts from years back.  I was appointed the substituted executrix and claimed the moneyin 2023.  Her estate has been closed for many years at this point.  I now received a 1099 INT with her SS# on it.  How do I file taxes for the interest?   Do I need to get a new # for the estate?

Because the interest was earned after the date of death should be reported by the beneficiary.  You would just report the interest in your return.

See IRS Publication 559 if you would like more information.
